Position Overview:

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Clearwater, FL. This role involves taking full ownership of the accounting processes for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data, and providing detailed financial analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update the general ledger by posting bank transactions, journal entries, and ensuring the overall accuracy of financial data.
• Review and approve all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions before posting to the general ledger.
• Reconcile account balances, including bank statements, balance sheet accounts, intercompany transactions, and other general ledger accounts.
• Take full ownership of the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing adjusting entries, accruals, and reviewing financial data for accuracy.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for multiple entities.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and explain significant variances from budgeted and/or trended amounts.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of financial transactions and procedures.
• Prepare annual budgets and other financial reporting requirements and assist with audits.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3+ years of experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members and departments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Work Hours:

Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.

Benefits:

Competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $65,000 to $80,000 annually. Additional benefits may include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, subject to company policy.
